It’s been a while, *sighs* but I’m grateful for each of you who’ve been down with me.
The last blog I posted was titled “Change is Coming” and oh, how things have changed. For some time, God had been dealing with me about a shift that He was doing in my life. Although, I knew change was coming, I didn’t know in what aspect it would be.
I’d been praying about moving back to California. I felt as I’d become stagnant in my career, my relationships, and some other areas of my life, but if you KNOW God, then you know He is about growth, not stagnancy.
There were some positions that had become available at my job back in LA that were aligned with my Masters degree and paid a lot more than what I was making while I was there as an instructor. I applied for them and I prayed. I didn’t pray to get the positions, but I prayed that God would place me where he wanted me to be and continue to do His work through me in whatever areas He chose.
At the start of the year, my oastor declared that this was the year of acceleration. God would be taking us further faster. Things that would normally take lengthy amounts of time, He’ll accelerate them and cause them to happen quicker for us. He asked us to ask God for a number and to make a pledge for the amount we were to give. We didn’t have to give it then, but to make the acceleration offerin by the end of the year. He promised that God would do the exceptional. I planted my acceleration seed in February and waiting on God to do what He said he’d do.
The week before last, I received an interview invitation for a Specialist position here in Houston. The interview was for the next day and I felt a little panicked because that was a short time to prep myself for the interview. However, I woke up at 4am the morning of the interview and prepped myself with the information I would need to know. A two hour interview turned into a job offer. It was God working.
Now, normally to get this type of position, more years of experience would normally be required. BUT GOD did the exceptional; he accelerated me into this position. It was God making good on His promise, his convening he made with those who pledged the acceleration offering to grow His Kingdom.
God answered two prayers with one move. One, He let me know he wanted me to stay right here on Houston to continue growing me here, and two, He propelled me into an administrative position, which I’d been asking for since the start of last year.
In this season, I still feel that more change is coming. God is moving. To all that is reading this post, be cognizant of God’s voice. Listen when he is speaking and move when he is saying go!
Be well my friends.
