I was lied to recently. I was made a promise, and that promise was broken. In the words of Beyonce, “Every promise don’t work out that way.” As I laid in my bed and pondered over that situation and sorted my feelings about it, my mind brought be back to how I felt yesterday. So, I asked myself, “What is up with me? What is up with the people around me?”
Glancing around my bedroom, my attention was drawn to a note I left for myself posted on one of my walls. It is from Deuteronomy 29:19… I am set above. Once I read that, I knew God was answering my question from yesterday. Simultaneously, he was answering my feelings about the situation I was thinking about before I starting writing this blog.
Through searching the Word, I found two other scriptures that tie into this message:
Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Leviticus 20:26 ‘Thus you are to be holy to Me, for I the LORD am holy; and I have set you apart from the peoples to be Mine.
Why does the Lord continue to remind us that He has set us apart? Maybe because we are not supposed to be like everyone else. Maybe because we are greater than our circumstances. Maybe because He wants to take us to the next level. Maybe because we have become too complacent being where we currently are. Maybe we are called to change the world!
The moment I read this I knew I could not concern myself with some of the things I have been concerning myself with lately. It’s time to focus on God’s #vision for my life. It’s time out for being bothered by these worldly things that occupy our time and our minds. We have to put those things aside. We have been set apart. When we truly grasp that, we will never want to be complacent. We will never want to “fit in”. We will never become victims of how other people view us. We will rise above. We will stand out. We will be okay with being different. We will be okay with ruffling a few feathers and getting a few funny looks. Why? Because we are not afraid to live in our purpose. We are not afraid to be leaders. We are not afraid to be the hands of God.
I hope this encouraged you as it has encouraged me, Fancy Friends.
