James 4:2 “You have not because you ask not.”
The first thing on my mind this morning was James 4:2. I was getting ready to go to the gym and was just about to walk out the door, but God wouldn’t allow me to leave my house until I wrote this scripture down and posted it to the wall in my room. As I pondered over the reasons He would have me to do this, it suddenly became clear: He never wants me to forget it.
Anything I desire is within the power of my words. All I have to do is ask Him and believe. What a powerful reminder. It’s time out for praying small prayers. God wants us to come boldly before the Throne of Grace and ask Him for outrageous prayers. Challenge Him to do the “impossible.” He is looking for ways to blow our minds and bless us.
Is there something crazy you’ve been dreaming about? Something you think is impossible for you to do on your own. This is your reminder to take it to God and ask Him for it. We have not because we ask not. There is nothing to large for God. God is the Jehovah Jireh; the God who shall provide for us. He is longing to be good to those who are seeking His goodness (Isaiah 30:18).
Get that down in your hearts, today. Be reminded of all of God’s promises to us. Search deep in your heart for those dreams and desires God has placed there. He gave your the desire so that you would believe and ask Him in Faith to provide.
As you pray tonight, ,mention these scriptures to God. Remind Him of his promises to you. Stay in faith and watch God work.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
