When branding yourself or your business, there are rules and guidelines to follow to ensure success. If done correctly, you could easily make a name for yourself and your business.
I recieved an email from a young man a few days ago asking for help with branding and developing a business. I gave him 3 pieces of advice. These three things will take any person to the next level. Simple, yet effective.
1. Preparation is everything. Plan effectively. Write down your thoughts and ideas and develop an action plan as to how you will accomplish it all. Put yourself on a timeline to achieve your goals you have written in your action plan. Find someone to hold you accountable for meeting the deadlines.
2. Be consistent. I was in a meeting this weekend and the presenter was saying that only 2% of people who have a dream to start a business or something along those lines actually do it. TWO PERCENT. That is a very low and disappointing number. The key is to stay focused and consistent. Don’t let anything sidetrack you from your destiny. Work on achieving your goals everyday. NO OFF DAYS.
3. Branding. Branding is very tedious. I won’t say it’s hard work, but it’s a lot of work. A lot of repetitive work. Simple things like using the same screen name on ALL social media can take you a long way. Find a name, whether it’s your real name of a personality name, and use it on all social media. Create a unique logo that others will recognize as yours. Market yourself.
Hope this helps you business owners and future business owners; even if your business is YOURSELF!
