Hey again, Fancy Friends. I hope everyone has been well since the last blog. Today’s message is about purpose. Purpose is one thing we all have in common, because each and every last one of us have one.
I was streaming church service from Lakewood this morning and the pastor mentioned something that caught my attention. He said that sometimes we have to be pushed into our purpose by God. Often times, we become complacent when everything is going well in our lives; we get comfortable. But there is no growth, no change is comfort. God has to come in an stir us up out of our comfort zones so we can become uncomfortable and move and change, so that we may grow. Just know that if you are in the midst of an uncomfortable situation that God is moving in your life and causing you to move forward into your divine destiny and purpose.
I remember when I was working for Verizon, fresh out of college. I was making decent money for a 22 year old. I had my own apartment and was paying bills, the norm. But God hasn’t called us to be “normal”. One day, the company announced that they would be closing the location I worked for. We would be loosing our jobs or we would have to locate to another state where there were other centers. At that time, I was not looking to relocate. So, I was without a job. That was God stirring things up in my life. Causing me to grow and change. I’d enrolled into a teaching certification program, after a coworker suggested it for me. Little did I know I would be teaching middle school students that same fall.
I was changing and growing; well on my way to finding my purpose that God intended for me. While in college, I had started writing my first book, “Half The Battle“, Teaching middle school students English really reignited my love for writing and story telling. So, years after starting that book, I was able to complete it. And now I working on my 3rd book and writing scripts and television shows. My love and passion for writing went dormant until I begin working in Education. I have found my purpose. It’s funny how we can be “pushed” into our purpose. Who knew that by God removing me from my comfortable job at Verizon would lead me into another position that would ignite my true purpose and reason for being?
What I want you guys to take away from reading this is that we all have some purpose for existing. Some of us have found it and others haven’t, but there is nothing wrong with that. Trust that God will continue to push you in the right direction, just as He did me. Trust that in the process and have faith that He will lead you exactly to where you should be.
Pray this prayer: “God, thank you in advance for pushing me into my purpose. I receive Your love and mercy in and over my life. You never cease to amaze me. I am eternally grateful for all that You’ve done and will do in my life. I asked that You use me in whichever way You want and that my purpose give others purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
